We have completed an essential project for Greenville Utilities Commission (GUC) at their WWTP and I am pleased to provide a letter of recommendation to recognize the quality performance by your team. Following the bids, cooperative negotiations resulted in a project within GUC’s budget that maintained the crucial upgrades required.
Construction included the installation of approximately 750 LF of a new 30” air distribution header from the plant’s blower building to the south BNR basins. This project was SRF funded and therefore, upheld Davis-Bacon Wages and AIS requirements.
During construction there were obstacles encountered, however, Turner Murphy Company’s Superintendent Terrell Whitaker and Project Manager Stephen Csonka promptly overcame all challenges, while providing cost effective solutions, in a timely manner. Stephen and Terrell worked cooperatively with Hazen to deliver GUC a quality construction project that was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
If you have any questions regarding our recommendation or wish to discuss our experience working with Turner Murphy Company, please do not hesitate to call.

Mr. Terrell Whitaker, the project superintendent consistently provided quality work and communicated efficiently. Stephen Csonka provided excellent customer service and timely resolutions to complex field issues from the administrative side. The coordination efforts and communication with our staff proved to be very valuable in completing this project ahead of schedule and within the budget.
It was clear to Greenville Utilities that Turner Murphy has had previous experience with this type of work and met our expectations for this critically important project.
I am pleased to write a recommendation letter for Turner Murphy Company. Turner Murphy was the contractor for a recent project at the Warren County Wastewater Treatment Plant. Turner Murphy and their staff did an outstanding job on the project. The work was delivered safely, on time and with minimum interruption to the treatment plant. Turner Murphy was responsive to our needs as an owner and understood the importance of keeping the plant running at all times. They worked through unforeseen conditions and changes by working together with the engineer and plant staff to come up with the most cost effective solutions. Their quality of work will serve the Town and County for years to come. We welcome the opportunity to work with them in the future.
Robert Murphy was a pleasure to work with. He was organized, communicated well with the city and maintained an accurate schedule.
Terrell Whitaker was very knowledgeable and well-liked by the plant staff. He had a good understanding of the project and kept the worksite clean. He worked well with the plant staff, subcontractors and engineers. Feel free to contact me for more comments.
I want you to know that it’s been an absolute pleasure having your firm provide construction services for our new Ultra-filtration and Reverse Osmosis landfill leachate treatment plant. The project was multi-faceted and highly technical. From start to finish your team of professionals was easy to work with, maintained a high level of integrity and completed the job on time.
The Project Superintendent, Mr. Terrell Whitaker, was a true professional. He consistently worked at a high level uncommon in today’s workplace. Throughout the project Turner Murphy’s team possessed the right mix of work ethic, knowledge, expertise, transparent communication, and ability to problem solve complex issues.
In recent years we’ve worked with multiple construction firms on various projects and none of them compare to the quality, customer service, expertise, and dependability we’ve experienced with Turner Murphy.
Without a doubt, I’m confident to recommend your firm for similar construction projects. Feel free to share my contact information with potential clients interested in references for your work.
In March 2014 Robeson County Public Utilities received bids for a four million dollar expansion of our Lumber Bridge Water Treatment Plant including filters, sedimentation and finish water storage. Turner Murphy Co. was awarded the bid. The quality of work was excellent, since the work involved an addition to existing facilities we encountered some differences from the plans. We were able to work out the changes with minimal expense to both parties. The only delays to work were weather related.
In 2016 Turner Murphy Co. was awarded a bid of approximately $800,000 to build a clarifier for sludge handling at our Maxton Water Treatment Plant and modifications to a backwash sludge tank at our Sanchez Drive WTP. Once again the quality of work was excellent. I would recommend Turner Murphy Co. for any water infrastructure projects.
